I finally got a chance to check The Smoking Goat in North Park, San Diego, CA. I love that this restaurant believes in the idea of “eat local, buy local”. It is European/French cuisine with a farm-to-table atmosphere. The interior design supports this concept. Reclaimed woods and brick represent the European farmhouse, while linen fabrics of the French style are used. Adding farm related prints to the linen fabric keeps the farmhouse atmosphere alive in a more sophisticated space. The combination of these materials and finishes with chandeliers contributes to space’s sophistication. Adding chalkboard walls and assorted frames as wall decor adds an eclectic vibe, setting the The Smoking Goat apart from a typical European restaurant.
