Escena Palm Springs
Whether it be a weekend golf trip or a casual lunch date, the Escena Golf Club in Palm Springs, CA is a top choice. The clubhouse and the lounge & grill are open to the public. The iconic Palm Springs Modernist architecture draws you in right at the entrance. White steel, glass, and wood are the key materials used in the building’s design.
The Escena Lounge & Grill has a retro look with mid-century elements, such as the large round fireplace seen below. The combination of of the fireplace and the stone wall reminded me of Elvis’s Honeymoon Hideaway, which is also located in Palm Springs. I definitely have a thing for memorable fireplaces! Another stand out element of the space is the ceiling. Suspended panels are contrasted with a dark grey ceiling and white beams, creating an overlapping effect. The suspended panels are circular and highlight the bar.
On the outdoor patio, there are columns wrapped in stone, which relate back to the stone by the indoor fireplace. This creates a great connection between indoors and outdoors. From the patio, there are beautiful views of the golf course.
