Timeless San Diego Home

The goal of this project was to convert an overall traditional home into a timeless contemporary space. The main area of focus was the kitchen, but work was also done in the living room, nook, and bathrooms. The space needed to be brightened up to create a more open atmosphere. New espresso hardwood floors were installed and contrasted with white cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. Marble countertops and white subway tile added a sophisticated touch to the kitchen and nook.

The cabinetry and countertop transitions into the adjacent nook, which contributes to the open feeling of the home. The client’s existing furniture was used, but new sisal rugs were used in multiple areas to tie it all together.

The living room had an existing fireplace and built-in. The brick was white-washed to tie into the cool color scheme and give a fresh feeling.

The bathrooms also contribute to the home’s fresh feeling. They have an overall tranquil environment. This was achieved with cool gray paint, white marbles, and white tile.
